Report on Potential Changes in the Healthcare Sector in the Czech Republic
This Report on potential changes in the healthcare sector in the Czech Republic is a result of a moderated expert discussion of four Czech political parties. It describes 21 areas of the national healthcare sector and options and recommendations on how to address them.
Among the topics addressed are, inter alia, issues of unhealthy environment and lifestyle, inadequate prevention, imperfect long-term care system, limited use of information technologies and incidence of corruption in the health sector.
This report should support a search for consensus between political parties on possible future changes in the health system in the Czech Republic.
Recommendations in this report do not aim at presenting ultimate solutions for the healthcare sector. The key aspect is to further study, analyse and interpret the problem areas and to offer space for discussion on how to deal with them. More open discussion on the Czech healthcare policy within the political parties and between them should be promoted.
